A Weekend in Weymouth

This weekend, my family and I took a trip to Weymouth to visit extended family, and to have a bit of a holiday ourselves. It ended up being something akin to the scene in 'Wild Child' where they visit a seaside town; lots of spades and little children running around on the beach, as you might expect! These are some of the photos I took on our trip to the coast.

As you can see, the weather wasn't fantastic, but we still had a brilliant time searching
for fossils on the beach (and finding some....although I admit they might have just been interesting rocks).

This photograph has an encounter of its own. Essentially, my sister yelled 'RACE YOU TO THE SEA', and as I love a good challenge, I couldn't resist and had to sprint to the water. However, in the excitement of the moment, I may have forgotten how the ocean works, and managed to get my feet completely soaked. That being said, I won the race, so it was totally worth it...

As a port town, fishing was a recurring theme in our visit to this little village. For example, we found this fishing sign from the 19th century (the historian in me got highly excited by this!).

This last photo is probably my favourite one of the bunch - it was taken in a vintage shop in the village centre, and I just love the assortment of colours and shapes. It was most definitely one of those shops where you want to buy literally everything in the place!
